Command Sergeant Major Jesus Ruiz


Command Sergeant Major Jesus Ruiz is currently serving as the Brigade CSM for the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Hawaii. He entered the US Army in Gilroy, California. He attended Basic Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Rucker Alabama in 1982. Upon completion of this training he was awarded the Military Occupation Skill of Observation/Scout Helicopter Mechanic/Crew Chief. His additional military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, the Basic Noncommissioned Officerís Course, the Advanced Noncommissioned Officerís Course, the First Sergeantís Course, Combat Lifesavers Course and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.

His assignments include BN CSM, 3d BN, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Infantry Division; Support Operations Sergeant Major, 277th Aviation Support Battalion, 10th Mountain Division; First Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment (Attack), 1st Armored Division; 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment (Assault), 101st Airborne Division; Production Control NCOIC, 3d Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division; Platoon Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 3d Aviation Regiment, 2d Armored Division; Platoon Sergeant, Company B, 7th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment; Instructor and Division NCOIC, Apache Armament Division and Maintenance Test Pilotís Course, United States Army Aviation Logistics School; Squad Leader and Phase Team Leader, Company E, 4th Aviation Regiment, 4th Infantry Division.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with six oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, four NCOES ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Ribbons, the NATO Medal, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait & Saudi Arabia). He has received both the Master Aviation Crewman Badge and the Air Assault Badge.
