MAKUA TRAINING SLATED FOR END OF JANUARY

SCHOFIED BARRACKS --Soldiers of 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, will participate in company-level combined-live-fire exercises (CALFEX) January 27 through February 6 at Makua Valley.

This training allows infantrymen to hone their tactical battle drill skills alongside aviation and artillery units, all simultaneously testing their weapons proficiency.

The CALFEX will help to ensure 25th Infantry Division (Light) units are ready for anything, anywhere, anytime in the defense of America.

Units stationed in Hawaii use the Makua Valley area for live fire training to remain proficient in combat training while remaining sensitive to the historical, cultural, archaeological and environmental concerns within the valley.
