Schofield Barracks increases gate access, Army opens additional facilities

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS -- Schofield Barracks will open McNair gate Monday to High Occupancy Vehicles (HOVs) from 5 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily for entry only.
     HOVs are defined as vehicles with three or more persons in them.The purpose of the HOV gate is to encourage car pooling efforts for soldiers, family members and civilian employees. Vehicles parked along Kamehemeha Highway and Wilikina Drive will be ticketed and towed by local authorities.
     Additional facilities that will open tomorrow are the Nagorski Golf Course on Fort Shafter, and the Outdoor Recreation Facility on Schofield Barracks. Force protection measures may impact operating hours for all facilities.
     Access for essential contractors at Schofield Barracks remains at McNair gate from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. For more information on contractor access, contact the appropriate contracting officer representative.
     Updated information will be posted on the 25th Infantry Divisions (Light) web site at www.25idl.army.mil , and the Command Information channel (HACN TV2) on all Army installation cable systems.
