Division Commanding General
Maj. Gen. Kurt Fuller most recently served as the deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, N.C.
MG Fuller is a native of Oklahoma, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Infantry in May 1981.
MG Fuller's previous assignments include: duty as a platoon leader with the
7th Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning, Ga.; platoon leader and battalion
staff for 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, including Operation Urgent
Fury in Grenada; company commander for the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea;
battalion S-4, S-5 and company commander for 1st Bn., 75th Ranger Regt.,
including Operations Just Cause in Panama and Desert Shield/Storm in Iraq;
battalion S-3 for 2nd Bn., 75th Ranger Regt., including Operation Uphold
Democracy in Haiti; ground operations planner for Joint Special Operations
Command at Fort Bragg, N.C.; executive officer for the 75th Ranger Regt.;
commander of 1st Bn., 87th Infantry Regt.; operations officer for the 10th
Mountain Division, including Operation Joint Guardian in Kosovo; commander
of 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, including Operation Iraqi Freedom in
Iraq; director of operations and later chief of staff for JSOC, including
Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom; deputy commanding general
(operations) for the 82nd Airborne Division while deployed to Afghanistan in
support of Operation Enduring Freedom. MG Fuller assumed command of the 25th Infantry Division on 5 April 2012.
MG Fuller has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Eastern New
Mexico University and a Master of Arts in Strategic Intelligence from the
U.S. Army War College. His military education includes the Infantry Officer
Basic and Advanced Courses, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College.
His awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit
with two oak leaf clusters, the Bronze Star Medal with three oak leaf
clusters, the Purple Heart, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the
Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Joint Service
Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Joint Service Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army
Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Combat Infantryman Badge with
star, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge with two
bronze stars, the Pathfinder and Air Assault badges, and the Ranger Tab.
MG Fuller has been married to his wife Sheila for 26 years. They have two
daughters, Sarah (14) and Emily (12).
