LTC Jonathan P. White

Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan White is a native of West Manchester, Ohio and a 1993 graduate of Wright State University. He was commissioned into the Armor branch and served as a Tank Platoon Leader and Battalion Scout Platoon Leader in 2nd Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea

Upon completion of his tour in Korea, he moved to Fort Knox and served as the Executive Officer of Echo Troop, 1st Squadron, 16th Cavalry Regiment. Lieutenant Colonel White graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1999 and later commanded SFOD-A 015 in A Co, 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and Troop 2 in C Co, 1-10th (Airborne) at Panzer Kaserne, Germany. Following the detachment command, Major White was selected to serve as the aide-de-camp to BG Gary "Mike" Jones, Commander, Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR). Lieutenant Colonel White returned to Fort Bragg, NC in 2003 and served at United State Army Special Forces Command (USASFC) and as the executive officer of C Co, 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and deployed with the company to Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2004 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

In June 2004, Lieutenant Colonel White attended the United States Naval War College Command and Staff Course in Newport, RI. Upon graduation in June 2005, Lieutenant Colonel White returned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and served in a number of duty positions until 2009, including the following: the Rear, Provisional, Group Operations Officer, the Joint Operations Center Chief for Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force, Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A), the Commander of C Co, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), the Battalion Executive Officer of 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and Special Operations Task Force 32, Kandahar, Afghanistan and Commander of the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) Operations Detachment.

In June 2009, Lieutenant Colonel White was assigned to the Office of Secretary of Defense for Policy with duty in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict where he served as a Counterterrorism Policy Advisor and as a Military Assistant to the Honorable Michael G. Vickers.

Lieutenant Colonel White is a graduate of Ranger School, Special Forces Qualification Course, Static Line Jumpmaster Course, Special Forces Advance Reconnaissance, Target Analysis, and Exploitation Techniques Course (SFARTAETC) and Military Free Fall Parachutist Course.

His awards and decorations include the Expert Infantryman's Badge, the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster.

Lieutenant Colonel White is married to the former Erika J. Allen of Providence, RI. They have a son, Sebastian who is 16 months old.
