ALOHA!!! Congratulations on your assignment to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team and the Schofield Barracks Community. On behalf of the Soldiers and Family Members of 3rd Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, "The Never Broken Battalion," I would like to welcome you to a prestigious organization with a distinguished history. I am sure you will find your assignment here in Hawaii both professionally and personally rewarding.

Schofield Barracks is the largest Army post in Hawaii, located on an 18,000 acre site in central Oahu. It is named in honor of LTG John M. Schofield, who, in 1872 recognized the strategic importance of Oahu to the defense of the United States. To assist in your transition your sponsor will be contacting you in the near future. It is important to keep him informed regarding your travel arrangements. This is especially important if you are traveling with a Family. Your sponsor will meet you at the airport, assist you in getting settled into temporary lodging, and provide you information on what to expect when you arrive.

Prior to your arrival, you should make reservations with the Inn at Schofield Barracks (808) 624-9650. If unable to accommodate you, the Inn at Schofield Barracks will fax you a Statement of Non-Availability (SNA) and a list of authorized alternate locations (you will need a SNA prior to choosing alternate lodging, or you may be limited in the amount you will be reimbursed for travel). A list of TLA approved hotels is also enclosed for your information.

When you arrive at the Honolulu Airport, please sign in with the Replacement Detachment desk located between baggage claim areas F and G (you will need your orders and your leave form).

If you are traveling with dependents or will bring them later, it is critical to have them listed on your orders. This will allow the dependents to receive all eligible entitlements, including airfare as well as increase the weight allowances for your house hold goods.

Housing Off Post

Most rentals do not allow pets. Pet regulation for On-Post housing stipulate that pit-bulls or any type of pit-bull breeding combinations such as American Pit-Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier or Staffordshire Terriers are strictly NOT ALLOWED on installation.
