CPT D. Shane Quinty

CPT D. Shane Quinty is originally from Tampa, Florida. He received his commission from the University of Florida ROTC in 2006 as an Armor Branched Detailed Officer. After graduating from the Armor Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox, Kentucky, CPT Quinty was assigned to Fort Knox, Kentucky as the Executive Officer for C Troop, 5th Squadron 15th U.S. Cavalry Regiment (19D OSUT), 194 Armor Brigade.

In 2008, CPT Quinty was assigned to Fort Stewart, Georgia as the Battalion Scout Platoon Leader for 1st Battalion 30th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized), 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. He then deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom VII to FOB Warrior in Kirkuk, Iraq for 9 Months. Upon redeployment, CPT Quinty was assigned as the Rear Detachment Commander for 1st Battalion 30th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized) until the redeployment of the Battalion was completed 6 months later.

In February 2011, CPT Quinty's branch detail ended, and he reverted to his basic branch, the Signal Corps. He was then reassigned as the Battalion Signal Officer for 1st Battalion 30th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized). CPT Quinty attended the Signal Corps Branch Qualification Course and Signal Captain's Career Course at Fort Gordon, Georgia in November of 2011.

In May 2012, CPT Quinty was assigned to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii as the Battalion Signal Officer for 1st Battalion 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. He deployed with the Battalion to Korea from August 2012 to September 2012 in support of Operation Wolfhound Maul.

CPT Quinty’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), National Defense Service Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal (1 Bronze Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, and the Parachutist Badge. CPT Quinty has completed the Scout Leaders Course, the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course, and the Joint Communications, Computers, Command and Control Planners Course.

CPT Quinty is currently married to the former Ms. Karrie A. Clark of Woolwine, Virginia.
