CSM Keith P. Hunter

Command Sergeant Major Hunter entered the army on November 28 1985 and served in every enlisted position in Army Aviation from Helicopter Repairman to Command Sergeant Major. He attended Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY and AIT at Fort Rucker, AL where he was awarded the MOS 67V Observation Helicopter Repairman.

CSM Hunter’s duty assignments include Crew Chief in Alpha Company, 24th Attack Helicopter Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield, GA; Crew Chief and Squad Leader for Bravo Company, 2nd Aviation Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea; Squad Leader HQ Post, Fort Eustis, VA, with the Maintenance Manager Test Pilot Training program; Platoon Sergeant in Papa Troop, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Germany; Maintenance Platoon Section Sergeant and Quality Control NCO for Alpha Company 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield, GA;  Quality Assurance NCOIC at Hanchey Army Airfield 1- 210 Aviation Battalion, Fort Rucker, AL.  No stranger to Air Cavalry operations, CSM Hunter served all his of his First Sergeant time in the Air Cavalry with assignments as First Sergeant of Quebec Troop, 4th Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, LA; First Sergeant, HHT, 1st Squadron, 6th Cavalry Brigade, Camp Eagle, Korea; First Sergeant, Fox Troop 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, Germany where he was selected to attend the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. Upon graduating The Sergeant Major Academy, his was assigned to the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade Schofield Barracks, HI as the Brigade Transformation NCOIC.  Upon activation of the 209th Aviation support Battalion, CSM Hunter served as the Battalion S-3 NCOIC. CSM Hunter assumed duties as the Command Sergeant Major of 2nd Squadron, 6 Cavalry Regiment in February 2007.

CSM Hunter’s education ranges from PLDC to the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 55 (Double Nickel).  He has an Associates of Science Degree from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Personnel Administration from Excelsior College.

CSM Hunter awards range from the AAM to the BSM. CSM Hunter’s deployments include Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, SFOR Bosnia, Operation Iraqi Freedom 02-04, and Operational Iraqi Freedom 06-08, Operation Iraqi Freeom 09-11, and Operation Enduring Freedom 11-12.
CSM Keith P Hunter hails from Mobile, Alabama; and is the son of Willie and Elizabeth Hunter. He is married to the former Karen Rivers of Baton Rouge La, and they have one daughter.
