What is a FRSA?
The Family Readiness Support Assistant is a link between Soldiers, Families, Family Readiness Groups and community resources.
The goal of FRSAs is to assist the command in properly and effectively responding to soldier and family needs by:
- * Providing information and referrals to families who need assistance to the appropriate installation and community resources.
- * Scheduling and coordinating training.
- * Assisting in establishing and updating FRG rosters.
- * Working with the Rear Detachment Commanders to provide FRG leaders with timely and accurate information.
- * Providing assistance with the preparation of pre-deployment, sustainment and reunion activities.
- * Helping to lighten the volunteer load.
FRSA Mission
Maintain the continuity and stability of Family Readiness Groups as units undergos changes in volunteers and leadership. Operationally, the FRSA provides administrative and logistical support to commanders, Rear Detachment Commanders and volunteer FRG leaders. Taking the administrative burden off volunteers allows FRG leaders to concentrate on performing outreach to Soldiers and their Families in the command, thus preserving stability on the home front, especially during periods of deployment.
