Welcome to the Army's best Stryker Brigade Combat Team

To our new 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division Warriors:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division. 1st Stryker Brigade is the only Stryker organization in the U.S. Army stationed in the Arctic. You will have the unique opportunity to continue a long and proud history.  We have built a team that is prepared to answer our Nation’s call, regardless of the mission.

Ft. Wainwright is the Army’s major installation in the Strategic Northwest and the home of the Arctic Wolves.  You are fortunate to be assigned to such a dynamic post that is at the forefront of the Army’s transformation and located in one of the wildest but most beautiful areas of the United States.

We will make every effort to support your arrival.  The successful reception of each Soldier is of great concern to me.  Upon arrival, visit the Fort Wainwright Welcome Center, Building 3401, to obtain newcomer’s assistance.  You can also visit the Ft. Wainwright website at www.wainwright.army.mil. This website provides additional information about the installation and the surrounding communities.

Ensure you arrive in top physical condition, as the Brigade policy requires you to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test within your first 30 days upon arrival. This will not only contribute to your combat readiness, but will also prepare you for your adventurous assignment in the arctic, which includes unique physical fitness training such as snowshoeing and skiing.

Again, welcome to the Arctic Wolves and Ft. Wainwright, Alaska.  We look forward to your arrival.  I am confident you will find your assignment here professionally challenging and personally rewarding.

Strike First, Strike Hard!
